Mummy Halloween Pizza Bockets

These mummy pizzas are small, savory flatbreads creatively wrapped with dough to resemble mummies, topped with melted mozzarella cheese. The process involves shaping dough, wrapping it tightly, and baking until crispy and golden, resulting in a fun, spooky snack with a crispy texture and cheesy appearance.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack pre-made pizza dough can use pre-rolled flatbread for quicker prep
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for brushing
  • to taste salt

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Rolling pin

Method

  1. Unroll or roll out the pre-made dough lightly to smooth it out and make it easier to shape. Use a rolling pin if needed, and cut into four equal rectangles, each roughly 4x6 inches.
  2. Spread a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese over the center of each dough rectangle, leaving about half an inch border on all sides. This cheese will be the mummy's 'face' and 'wrapping.'
  3. Take thin strips of dough, about a quarter-inch wide, and carefully wrap them diagonally across each cheese-topped rectangle, overlapping slightly to resemble mummy bandages. Pinch or press the edges to secure the strips in place, especially at the start and end points.
  4. Arrange the wrapped dough rectangles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them evenly. Lightly brush the tops with olive oil for a golden, crispy crust.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is bubbling around the edges.
  6. Once baked, remove the mummy pizzas from the oven and let them cool slightly. Add small dots of olive oil or additional cheese for 'eyes' if desired, to give your mummies spooky little faces.

Notes

For faster preparation, use pre-made flatbread instead of rolling out dough. Make sure to pinch seams tightly to prevent the 'mummies' from unwrapping during baking. Keep an eye on the oven to prevent over-browning.
