Ingredients

  • 2 cups ripe mango chunks peeled and pitted
  • 1 cup ice cubes preferably crushed or chipped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional for brightness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Knife

Method

  1. Place the peeled mango chunks and ice cubes into the blender.
  2. Add a tablespoon of lemon juice to enhance the flavor and help prevent browning.
  3. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed for about 30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth, thick, and frosty. You should hear a consistent whir and see the ingredients turning into a velvety, icy slush.
  4. Stop the blender and check the texture—it should be creamy and ice-crystal free. If it’s too thick, add a splash of coconut water or more mango; if too runny, add a few more ice cubes and blend briefly again.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity if needed—adding a little honey or more lemon juice if desired.
  6. Pour the chilled mango slushie into glasses, watching it fill with vibrant color and frosty texture. Garnish with a small mango slice or a mint sprig if you like.

Notes

For an extra creamy texture, blend in a few frozen coconut milk cubes before serving.
