Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup tequila chilled
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes frozen and ready
  • Salt dampened edge salt for rimming glass

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Cocktail glass
  • Small plate for salt rim
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Prepare the glass by dampening the rim with lime juice, then gently pressing it into a small plate of salt to create a salted edge. Set aside.
  2. Add the lime juice, tequila, simple syrup, and ice cubes to your blender. Ensure the tequila and lime are chilled for a smoother slushie.
  3. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high until the mixture is thick, smooth, and icy, with no large ice chunks remaining. The texture should be creamy and slushy.
  4. Pour the blended margarita slushie into your prepared glass, filling it to the top with a frosty, icy surface that glistens.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel if desired, and serve immediately to enjoy the bright, icy refreshment.

Notes

For an extra chilly treat, freeze the glass beforehand. Adjust sweetness with more or less simple syrup. Use high-quality tequila for the best flavor.
